The policies below are also available via our booklet ‘CROYDON NEEDS REFORM – OUR CONTRACT WITH YOU’.
OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES
Reform Croydon will build a safer and more prosperous borough, prioritising the needs of all residents over the needless bureaucracy and mismanagement of other parties. Our priorities span economic growth, community pride, and public safety. We believe in policies that encourage local community, enterprise, efficient public services, and restore confidence in local government. Together, these values reflect our commitment to all residents of Croydon and our vision for the borough’s future.
Croydon has seen worrying increases in crime. Reform Croydon will focus on practical measures to support enforcement, improve community safety, and rebuild confidence in local policing.
Reform Croydon welcomes foreign investment and opposes taxes that discourage enterprise or wealth creation. We advocate for removing restrictions to boost the local economy and drive growth. We also recognise the critical role of roads, traffic management, and parking provision in maintaining a successful economy.
Croydon is a great town made up of many vibrant local communities, yet it has, in some respects, lost its sense of pride. We want to preserve the distinct character of each of our towns and resist inappropriate development that threatens their individuality. Using the powers of the council, we will work for residents and restore a widespread sense of civic pride across the borough.
Between now and May 2026, we will continue to develop policies in consultation with the people of Reform Croydon. Our goal is to ensure that residents’ voices are heard and that the council acts transparently and responsibly on their behalf. With further updates to come, this page provides an initial outline of our vision and how you can help shape Croydon’s future.
CRIME & ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Croydon is becoming lawless, with rising crime blighting our streets. Reform Croydon will do everything possible to support the police with proper and fair enforcement of the law. While policing is the operational responsibility of the Metropolitan Police (the Met) and the political responsibility of the Mayor of London, there is much more the council can do to help reduce the levels of crime that blight our borough.
In December 2024, Croydon had 284 reported drug offences, the worst in London.
Increasing problems
According to data from the Met, in 2024, Croydon saw an 88.7% rise in drug offences, a 17.7% rise in shoplifting and a 2.2% rise in violent crime.
Use council powers to cut anti-social behaviour
Reform Croydon will have zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour and will use all available powers (PSP Orders, Injunctions, Criminal Behaviour Orders) – as effectively as possible. Croydon Council can use its powers to install more street lighting, cut overgrowth and enhance sight lines. These methods are proven to reduce crime.
Tackling crime hot spots
We back the use of fairly applied Stop and Search to protect us. We will also support the Police in reducing ‘hot spot crime’ and maintain outreach for those at risk.
Reform UK back The Met, and will do everything possible to support them to enforce our laws. A founding principle of the Police Force was that they were answerable to the public – we are the only party to respect that.
Increase Police and Council accountability
Many feel we need more police visibility on our streets. Reform Croydon will bring representatives of the Met and the public together so that important questions can get direct answers.
Only Reform UK will save our streets from knife crime, drug dealing, and anti-social behaviour. The other parties have utterly failed to protect us.
COUNCIL FINANCE
The other parties have failed all Croydon residents. There is a budget deficit of £136m despite council tax being raised by 27% since 2022 and the reduction of council services. Residents are always paying more and receiving less. It’s clear that a fresh approach is required, Reform Croydon will cut unnecessary waste and reduce the debt burden.
Introduce fiscal responsibility to Croydon
The only way to prevent spiralling council tax and business rates is to cut wasteful spending and review the wasteful contracts given out by Croydon Council. Reform will not gamble your tax money by buying and developing property. We also commit to getting basic services right first, before spending your taxes on any other schemes.
Labour and Conservative each increased Council debt by £600M with little to show for it.

Get Croydon out of debt
Croydon owes £1.4bn in debt, with interest accruing. This will aect us for generations if it’s not sorted out as a priority.
Together, Labour and the Conservatives have plunged Croydon into over a billion pounds of debt. Their fiscal recklessness cannot be allowed to continue.
Making savings
We will divert wasteful spend to pay expensive Labour/Tory loans and drive down annual interest payments. Spending will be reviewed including the £53 million spent on Agency Staff, £15m on consultancy costs, £180,000 on Net Zero, and increased funding for ‘Cultural Growth’. We commit to have no new employee at Croydon Council to earn more than the Prime Minister, and to publishing details of members of council staff earning over £100k per annum.
It’s time for change. The current spiralling debt cannot be allowed to continue. Reform UK are the only option to reverse the trend.
PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT
We believe in sensible development that works for local residents. As one of London’s most rapidly expanding boroughs, it’s important that new schemes are thought-through.
Resist car-free developments
Reform UK recognises that many local residents drive and will resist car-free developments where parking spaces would make sense. It’s lunacy that, as a suburban borough, driving is discouraged to such an extent.
Labour and the Tories have approved schemes which don’t serve Croydon residents
Introduce a Town Centre Regeneration Scheme
Our town centre resembles a shadow of what it once was. We believe in taking pride in where we live – that’s why we want to encourage redevelopment. A better town centre will support businesses and build a better community for residents.
Put residents first
Reform UK councillors will think about resident needs first, including community space and services. Developers must play ball.
Croydon is blessed with beautiful parks, ponds, and natural spaces. We are a borough of many houses with gardens and alleyways in which nature thrives. Reform will protect these great resources so important for the environment, childhood development and mental wellbeing
LOCAL SERVICES
Reform Croydon will push back against further cuts to the vital services that our elderly and vulnerable residents rely on, while cutting the wasteful spending that has persisted for decades. Reform UK will always put the needs of residents first.
Four libraries have recently been closed despite massive public opposition.
Protect our essential services
The Council is out of touch, closing libraries and other community used services while wasting millions on other projects. This is unacceptable.
Support our local NHS services
Despite promises, Labour and the Conservatives have let down our local NHS, waiting lists are longer and patient care ‘requires improvement’. A Reform administration would examine how the Council can help and hold NHS bosses to account for failure.
Croydon’s dire financial position has impacted services in the borough. We’re committed to maintaining key services whist we work to resolve the financial mess left by past Labour and Conservative administrations
Look after our environment
Croydon has some of the most beautiful green spaces in London. Reform UK will ensure they are well-kept with regular maintenance and encourage bio-diversity.
Fly-tipping
Fly-tipping and littering is an all too common sight these days. It ruins the character of an area and lax enforcement encourages others to do it too. A Reform UK Council will push for heavy penalties for fly tippers as well as clearing the mess urgently. We will work efficiently with the private sector to fund CCTV in fly-tipping hot spots. We cannot let Croydon remain so unkempt.
We commit to restoring faith in our services. We will get the basics right.
LOCAL ECONOMY, TRANSPORT AND MOTORING
Croydon’s proximity to London, Gatwick, and the south coast is a great feature of our town, important for our economy. A Reform council will be committed to a transport policy focused on keeping Croydon moving.
A voice for Croydon
We will push for a public consultation on whether Mayor Khan’s ULEZ policy causes more harm than good to the residents of Croydon, seek to reverse damaging GLA anti-driver policy.
We will review restrictions and remove them where there is no danger or traffic flow issue.
Introduce a lane rental scheme for disruptive road works
As a council, Croydon has the right to charge developers fees for using our roads at certain times of the day. Our roads are often blocked by construction traffic, we propose to introduce this levy in particular cases to raise funds.
Review and fix our roads
We will make Croydon’s roads safer by fixing potholes. We will review traffic measures such as one-way systems, bus and cycle lanes.
Economic growth
Croydon council has for many years interfered in and acted to damage Croydon’s economy. The Council should let our businesspeople and residents travel smoothly. We will work in partnership with businesses, associations and community groups to ensure that High Streets are prosperous. Reform UK is the party of business; we will work with investors to unlock the town centres vast potential and drive growth in our Borough.
To get Croydon moving we will, relax parking restrictions across the borough, and rollout the removal of 20 MPH speed limits and return to a 30 MPH default speed limit.
